Connect Four

tip

If you want to know how to start or end a game, or how to see your stats and ranking, please see our general help for two-player games.

Connect Four is a two-player connection game in which the players first choose a color and then take turns dropping colored discs from the top into a seven-column, six-row vertically suspended grid. The pieces fall straight down, occupying the lowest available space within the column. The objective of the game is to be the first to form a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line of four of one's own discs.

Variants

Variants of Connect Four are available on ghosty via options of the /c4 slash command.

Board Sizes

ghosty offers different variants of Connect Four. You can choose different non-standard board sizes such as 8x7, 8x8 and 9x7. This is especially interesting since Connect Four is a solved game, meaning that with standard rules, players can easily look up the best moves. With non-standard board sizes, this is not the case.

Connectris

Another variant is Connectris which is an tetris-inspired variant of Connect Four. In Connectris, whenever the bottom row is filled, the bottom row is cleared and all pieces above it fall down. It is not possible to draw in Connectris by filling the entire board.
